Descrying The Aleph
Descrying The Aleph
Sully (Kaiju Cabal)
‘The Aleph’ is a short story written by Jorge Luís Borges, an Argentinian writer, published originally in the 1940s. His stories often focus determining the nature of truth, reality, and the distortions of it, often articulated as labyrinths and mirrors.
The concept of the Aleph, the nature and truth of this fantastic phenomenon is questioned and articulated in the story, and I provide an illustrated accompaniment because to descry is to “catch sight of.” All words in the zine are excerpts from the original translated story. There is a QR code included that links to a pdf of the story.
Size: 5.5”x17” (folded: 5.5”x 2.25”)
Paper: 62lb matte
Finishing: Vellum sleeve, to keep it from unfolding
Note: the sleeve is not fixed to the zine and can be easily removed. For distros/stores, etc., a “reader copy” without sleeve can be provided, at no cost, by request.
