Trader Joe's Exposed #4
Trader Joe's Exposed #4
Anonymous
After the first three issues of this zine were REMOVED FROM ETSY, the anonymous author wrote issue four to vent and explain how stupid Etsy is! Will Etsy.com allow this freedom of speech to remain on their website? We’ll see!
This issue starts off by addressing Etsy’s decision to not allow the first three issues to be sold on their site, and explains why their accusations of copyright infringement are completely bogus! (Remember 10 years ago when Etsy was a cool quirky website for artists? Not a a giant stock-market corporation that is essentially just a second ebay?) The author then goes back to attacking the grocery store chain where she was once employed. Topics of conversation include unions, greenwashing, and seedy gossip about coworkers being fired! (some deserved it, some didn’t!)
This is a great work-zine that gives a behind the scenes look at a corporate retail grocery store. The author is 100% pissed off at the world in a wonderful way, helping us to not only share her anger, but also laugh along at it, as this world of ours is stupid and ridiculous. Somehow the zine manages to achieve a balance of being completely judgmental yet not at all preachy? How does she do that?
